I wish i had the money too. This seems like one of those auctions that people will want it but nobody came for it so they wont bid. Then it will go cheap and it'll be one of those once in a lifetime things.
If it were running, I'd think it'd be a cool little car to go downtown (parking would be a breeze) and to just drive up and down Carolina Beach and Wrightsville.
I think i'm not even going to go to the auction so that i'm not tempted. My goal for now is to get my VW Bus running first (and i can't even justify spending $50 for the parts so my friend can help me get it started)

Hi ahight, that looks like a nice project car, for the weekend warrior. I’m not sure just how rare they are in the US, but I’m sure that there can’t be many of them. Wouldn’t that make parts hard to find? I’m assuming it’s in the Micro Car Class??? Anyway I wish I could go to a auction and spend some cash. Sometimes you can find some good stuff at a auction, but as of right now though, I’m looking into getting rid of my Land Cruiser and getting a new Expedition, so my spending is limited until I make a decision.
If there is no one at the auction who wants it, I’m sure you could get it for a reasonable price? I bet it would be quite a eye catcher if fully restored.

There's an auction this weekend and one of the things of interest (too bad i don't have the money to buy it) is a 1959 Fiat Bianchina. It doesn't mention if it runs but looks like it would be a great project vehicle (or for me, it'd sit next to my '78 VW Westfalia for the years)
How rare are these in the US?
Incase there's anyone around NC that wants it and wants to go to the auction, here's the link:
