Hmmm I do not know if that number should be part of the name or not. It is just related to engine size I suppose?
Not necessarily, since my father bought a 1967 Coronet 440 back in the 1970's that had a 318 c.i.d. engine.

One of the two 1970 Dodge Station wagons my father bought later on in the '70 had a six-cylinder engine, but I don't know if it was the Coronet Deluxe, or Coronet 440. Incidentally, he was driving one of them during the 2nd Blizzard of 1978 and had to leave it on New York State Route 110 and sleep overnight in a bank building. The car ended up on the front cover of Newsday the next day.

You're welcome. But you've still got a separate listing for Coronet 440's;
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Dodge_model-Coronet+440.html
...and Coronet 500's;
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Dodge_model-Coronet+500.html
...that these three aren't a part of.

I've noticed there are still a lot of Dodge Coronet 440's, 500's, and other models that are still listed as ordinary Coronets.
This one, for example is a Coronet 440:

This one is a Coronet 500:
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_181279-Dodge-Coronet-1968.html
Apparently, so is this:
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_17366-Dodge-Coronet-1969.html
On another topic, this one was mistaken for a 1970, when it's actually a 1971 or 1972:

Just something to keep an eye on.
