Thought I'd share a couple of classy mods with you guys.

First up, Lincoln Continental column shifter with the shaft painted black:

Yes, welcome back. It'e been a while sine I've been here too. Nice Taurus too.

Thanks! I actually found my Sable at the junkyard 8 months after I bought the Taurus and it was a really sad moment.

I did make a few new memories with the Taurus. My friend and I took a road trip to Vegas and had a blast. I also went to Monterey for a club meet (which was scheduled at the same time as Concours d'Elegance). I might start a new topic with pics of the Monterey event.

Haha, before I read that you cahged the taillights I was so confused when I saw you had said "2003 model".

But I'm still very sad you're Sable is gone, I prefer that much more, even though this Taurus is quite nice.

Now that's a really nice Taurus  nice wheels, nice beige interior, nice exterior color and column shifter, just an excellent choice :bave:

Don't feel so bad about giving up your old car. Just imagine all the experiences you will have in your new one. I've gone through many changes since I bought my LeSabre in 2004. I returned to civilian life from being deployed, got several different jobs in different towns, and met very interesting people. I sure wouldn't want my 87 Cultass Ciera again. That was the rusted-heap-excuse-for-a car that I first owned.

Nice set of wheels, Congrats!

If I’m not mistaken, the 2003 model year was the first year for the "Personal Safety System" (PSS)

It’s like an intelligent brain that controls all the safety features and its able to decide via sensors how best to activate them. It also knows the body size of the occupants (on some vehicles) seat position, whether seat belts are being used, severity of the crash and so on. The only reason I know, is because a certain SUV also got this system for the 2003 model year.

Wow, the forum looks different. Haven't been on here for a while. How are you guys doing? It seemed like this place has been doing well since I left. I've actually been busy with college and work and had to cut down on internet time.

The last time I was here, I was driving a '95 Sable. Unfortunately the transmission started slipping like these cars usually do. I traded her in for a 2003 Ford Taurus SEL. Thought I could replace the Sable with a "newer version" but it doesn't fill the emotional void of a first car that got you through high school and part of college. It's still a comfortable car nonetheless. Anyways, here's some pics of it:

It has the Duratec 24v V6 and it moves! It has upscale goodies such as electronic climate control, side air bags, traction control, and power pedals. I changed the taillights to '04+ (I like the way these look better) and added the factory Mach Amp (which sounds awesome for a stock amp!).
