Definitely.

Done, it should be easier to maintain now with only two "mk" numbers and the model years.

Thanks.
I remembered indeed that one of our Polish members some day cleaned that
I guess that at least the years are correct, so I'll do batch changes to match the 2 generations with correct years for each.

I felt called to answer.
Ever since I can remember, most of the pre-facelifted (1981-1989) Trafics were listed at the site as the "serie 1", the 1989+ ones with the new face were quite often considered as the "serie 2" and few from the 1990s were the "serie 3" - some were mixed, some didn't have any "serie".
Once I decided to clean this up, during the MY identification (I did mention this in comments at some pages). According to what we already had in some cars, I changed all 1989+ Trafics to s2, all 1995+ to s3 and few 1997 to s4 (there were minor modifications in 1996/97). This way the 2001 model became the s5. OK - we gained more "series" – maybe it looks complicated - but at least cars were listed constantly - according to one system and not like before, when the same model from the same period was once listed as the s2 and another time as the "s3" etc.
In the meantime of course new Trafics have been added to the site. Like I see - some cars don't follow the once set order indeed, but not so many in fact.
Anyway I agree - at this point the reduction to the main 2 generations is a good idea - it will be more clear this way.
I believe now, when most of the cars is organized acc. to the MY, the batch change should be more easy to do.

I do not remember if it was discussed previously, but the current numbering of Renault Trafic seems a little messy, lots of errors.
They are splitted in 5 or 6 generations, but there were actually only 2 generations, each with several facelifts.
The first one, launched in 1981. It seems to have been restyled in 1990 and 1995, according to wikipedia.
The second one (current) launched in 2001 and restyled in 2006.
But that only make 5, I do not know how we reached 6...
