I have noticed that certain cars (for example Cortinas, Minis and most weirdly Rover 800s where there were relatively few examples) now seem to have anonymously (the changer hasn't actually asked if or explained how this would be useful as dhill has) been changed to include the trim level in model name

I'm probably responsible for most of the Cortinas and Minis to make them easier to work with and keep them as consistent as I can get through all the silly little details.

And now 'Jeans' is part of the actual model name in VWs? Who made this change without asking or posting here?
Jeans should have stayed where it was, in the extra field, because it's exactly what the extra field is for, a trim equipment.

Finished.

I’ll work on those later. I’m out right now.

Is there enough consensus to change the accord coupe to a model name? Seems to be that case. If so I can begin the task if granted.

I did the Rover 800s, a couple of years ago, I think. It looked rather ridiculous to have for instance, 820 as model name and "i" as extra info, when all BMWs are entered with "318i" or "520d" as model names.

But I should have asked first if it was OK, I know.

My opinion (and it's just that) is that it isn't so useful to have Si or SLi in the model field (as it isn't really to do with the engine, just trim, though there were differences like fuel injection systems or carburetors between 820, 820e and 820i) but I would keep/have Sterling and Vitesse as separate models without 827 or whatever. But my opinion isn't really binding.

Also in support for making the Accord Coupes separate. The Wagon already has this distinction . Logically, the coupe should follow.

I'm okay with listing the coupes separately. I know dhill_cb7 would like it.
