There must have been a better solution for that Mini (1997+ Cooper with Sportspack, LHD so probably from Europe) than just trashing it.

Bureaucrats love a bit of mindless vandalism to make their pious point - they probably have sad lives ... There must have been a better solution for that Mini (1997+ Cooper with Sportspack, LHD so probably from Europe) than just trashing it. And it's sad that a Brit cop appeared as a talking head to legitimise it.
But underneath, they do have a serious point to make about international car theft, both for the victims and for innocent buyers. Maybe we should be grateful it was only a Mini they sacrificed this time, not something more exotic/rare/irreplacable??
