In North America the Hilux name has not been used since 1975, but we still have several trucks in North America marked as Hilux.

About Mexico, I am not sure, I just thought that only US/Canada didn't get the Hilux name.

Wikipedia said 'in North America', but I wouldn't consider that concrete.
I checked out Toyota's Mexican page, it seems they sell both the Tacoma and MkIX Hilux (the one the rest of the world gets), so that doesn't prove anything.
