My parents' Omega (2.5 litre V6 with automatic gearbox) that they are sharing with me is only getting a lousy 19.5 mpg average consumption (according to the LED display in the dashboard). I'm not looking foward to when it's my turn to fill it up! Gas prices in the UK are at an all-time high at over £1 ($2 and 1.38 Euros) a litre (of regular, non-premium unleaded petrol)!!!!! 
I did once hear that gasoline (or petrol in your case) was like 5 or 6 American dollars a gallon. Am I wrong?
Just filled up my tank today and for a full tank it's about $45-$50 average.
