pushed up due that comments:
[Sarcastic mode on] "wow" [Sarcastic mode off] ok ok, i know it's not very common there as a taxi
Same in Belgium.
Most common are Mercedes C & E-class of course, but it seems that Skoda become popular for that. I should try to pay attention to taxis, right now I can't really give other popular models.
Only common small taxis are A-class Mercedes.

So what, smaller is possible. In 1997 I'd been in Israel, there was the brand new VW Polo Classic getting very popular as a taxi.
In Germany the Jetta is not very popular as a taxi. If VW's are in use, it's mostly the Passat Variant or the T4 or T5 Multivan. Where I lived until 2005, there was even a Vento running as a taxi, not very common either.
But nowadays you can see more and more Dacia's as taxi in Germany, not only the Wagon, even the Sedan. This is really a bit too small and shabby IMHO.

Sadly to say, the taxis where I live are mostly all Scion XBs (Yuck!). I was upset to see them replaced by the Crown Vics.
