For us car-spotters (and plate-spotters, too) it would be really smart, to have always your camera -a usable one, not the shitty phone-cameras- with you. I do that since a short time, also for sunday-walks and recently even for the walk to the post-office and the supermarket - and every time I'm a bit successful

You know, the phone cameras have evolved in the last 10 years
High-end smartphones with optical stabilizer do as good as my 4-year-old compact camera.
Especially for simply posting on a forum.
In daylight, the result of my smartphone is already often as good as the camera.
And in night it would still be much better than my dashcam.

Even on short leavings a camera makes sense. I just went out to the haircutter and my sport-club, without camera - and have spotted to (already known) rarities: the Ford Scorpio II Turnier taxi and the Nissan Sunny Van...

A propos car-spotting: next Sunday I'm planning to visit http://www.retromobileclubdespa.be/bourses.html and afterwards a bit sightseeing in Lüttich/Liège/Luik (my wife comes with me). Of course I'll take the camera with me.

They had gearbox-problems all the time, once the husband replaced it, after accidentally he found an old Zodiac-gearbox somewhere. The car runs well up to Norway and back, but in Dortmund it died finally. We got 50 D-Mark (ca.25 €) as scrap-value.

Today I spotted a 1999-01 Honda Civic, base-spec model, with "F1 Winner" written on the rocker panels !!

On the way back from the hardware store, I've stopped at the Fiat/Alfa/Lancia-dealer in my village to make pics of this original Delta Integrale, parked in their showroom (he also owns a Fulvia Coupé in sporty trim). It was re-imported from Japan!

On the first view I thought "Oh, abandoned without plates. Odd, that it's not towed away in this area with not enough parking spaces", but then I saw the front plate behind the windscreen. But not used for a longer time anyways.
