Origin is the country in which the car was designed (well, if you seen what I mean).
So for VW it is usually either Germany or Brazil. For the Beetle, it was designed in Germany, so its origin is Germany, IMHO.
ML is made in USA, but it is sold with the other MB in Europe and other countries, so it could be considered as a German car as it is part of the general MB production and not specific to USA.
About Vauxhall, I do not know I would say that they are UK cars, but you are right about the rebadged Opel... so we have to decide what to do with these.
Honda Civic is a Japanese car.
I do not think that it is useful to mark UK cars as "made for..." unless the name change, or that the car has a visual difference (other than the steeringwheel side :D)
RR is owner by BMW, but it is still considered as UK cars I think. Well, it is a subject on which we can discuss.
