dsl
It was on my list of things to do, so thanks Sandie (or John as I now know).
- the green Avenger Tiger replica is a complete fake based on a deluxe, but apparently the 3rd oldest surviving Avenger. The proper Tiger was a thing of rare beauty - original 1st series - our only one on the site is a 2nd series.
- the Herald coupe is this one - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_540962-Triumph-Herald-Coupe-1961.html
- as for the Saabs, the LHD Finnish rally one was imported as a car with some history in SF but this was not explained - possibly SkandaTek or similar name. The Anniversary car was #97 of 300 for the 25th Anniversary of Saab starting production - http://www.uksaabs.co.uk/UKS//viewtopic.php?f=12&t=82608 .
- the Skoda was a serious bit of kit but no idea if any ex-works status. The Escort was RS 1800 and fantastically well prepared, and the Porsche 912s were both very nice.
- more pics of Sunbeam Lotus with Volvo T6 engine at http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=20708&mforum=macdroitwich
- I think the first time I've ever seen Holdens in the metal. http://anygivenreason.com/2012/08/23/historic-monte-carlo-rally-holden-48-215/ for the story; the Commodore was the other bookend - as a 79 car it was the last year eligible for the 1980 cut-off for this event (but there were several 1980+ cars to bulk out the list...)
- entry list at http://www.caledonianmsc.freeuk.com/n_monteentrylist13.html . Probably about 20 serious rally cars, 30 good classics and the rest a strange assortment of whatever people decided to enter. Not quite the pedigree field that the publicity implied but good fun.

Still learning how to use Dropbox, so no idea if it does thumbs.
