I add that even the name of "Moldova" is romanian. Romania has three historical provinces: Moldova, Wallachia and Transylvania. All of them speak the same language and they have the same culture from ages. They were first united in 1599, by Michael the Brave. They were separeted in 1601 by the habsurgs, poles and turks, who all had their interests here, and Michael was assassinated. Moldova and Wallachia reunited in 1859. Transylvania was added in 1918. That part of Moldova which was stolen from us by the russians we name it "Basarabia" (from romanian Basarab dinasty who ruled Moldova in the middle ages). They call it "The Republic of Moldova", which is a stupid name, because Moldova still is (and always was) the name of the eastern romanian province. We still say "I go in Moldova (or in Wallachia, or Transylvania).". Or "I'm from Moldova (or Wallachia, or Transylvania).". I'm from Wallachia, from instance, but my mother was born in Moldova.
So the Republic of Moldova is nothing else than a part of big Moldova which still is (and always was) in Romania.
And Transnistria is a part of Moldova. It was ruled by romanian* kings since middle ages.

* We had this name long before the unity of all three provinces. The foreigners said to all of us "romanians" because these places were roman colonies in antiquity and romanian is a latin language.
