@wasserspeier: the crash wasn't too bad, so the car aren't destroyed.
A bit diffferent it's in a town close to Hannover (I grew up in the neighbourhood).
There is a 4-lane-road across the town, with tramway-tracks in the middle. There is one place, where the car-lanes made a sharp turn to the right and the tram-tracks are going ahead - but on gravel ground, which is deeper than the asphalt.
At bad weather or if the driver don't know the location, it often happens, that they go straight ahead and stuck with their car in the gravel.
This causes bad problems. At first the fire-fighter have lift up the car, because it's not possible to get out with own power and then often the cars are heavily damaged. Some are totaled, but you cannot see it from a normal view. But the axles, the suspension, the chassis and often gearbox and engine are smashed.
