2010 Lincoln MKT

This video shows it parking itself (though its not the first vehicle to do so, which was Lexus, its still neat to watch) The system is said to work much faster than the Lexus system. Thus it can park itself faster than a Lexus.

I like this comment:
Who the fuck is ever going to actually sit there and wait that long for this ugly ass car to park it's self.

Indeed it is slow, but some people do not park faster
I wonder if it would work in very small spots where you have to do it in 4 or 5 times rather than large places like on the video.

They should do (if it hasn’t be done already) a comparison Driver vs. Car, and see which one parks faster. Even if it is faster than a Lexus, I agree it still is slow. But I guess after you use the system for a while you will get faster a using it, which would result in faster park times.

As for the vehicle itself, I really like it, but the rear tail lamps put me off.

That's a massive parking spot. It ticks me off when people park their compact car in a spot that size. They can accommodate another car in there, but no, they need the entire 10 feet in front and 10 feet in back to park their Civic! </rant>

Well where else are they supposed to park?

Dodge Charger Police Car hunting a Mazda Miata (with a funny end):

My brother-in-law, the policeman nearby Berlin has told me, that soon their cars will also get these small dashboard-cameras for filming their services.

So it were only photos, he had shown us two days ago, right at the time, we made a barbeceue. :ohwell:
Photos about that, what was left over after a car chase, he was involved himself.
One guy (a lawyer from Berlin) escaped from a traffic-control in the night (he was drunk), my brother-in-law and a police-schoolboy were following in their police-Mercedes C-Class.
While crossing a forest-road the guy had the idea to switch off the light, so the cops behind him cannot see him any more. A bad idea. He forgot, that he cannot see any more, too.
Shortly later they've found his car (a Mercedes E-Class), wrapped around a tree (only identifyable by the trunk hood, everything else was pulverized).

The police-student said to my brother-in-law "Oh, he's sureley running into the forest", but he answered "No, he's still here" - it looked, like a fridge-counter in a butcher's shop was exploded. The biggest identifyable part of the guy was one hand. :ohwell:

I must admit, that I haven't looked on these photos. I had my mouth full with a original German Bratwurst - and it should stay there.
My wife has looked. She said "Aaah, come on, I'm reading police-files of crashed every day in office, so it's nothing special for me."
But it was ugly for her, too, because these were coloured photos. The insurances, where we both are working, is using b/w-copies of the files.

Maybe it´s no bad idea to stay with b/w-pictures.

Newly released off set frontal crash test (vehicle impacts off center) footage of a 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer (UN93). The SuperCab version of the Ford F-150 (the truck the Expedition is based off) would later be given an off set test for the 2001 model year and fail.

That belt-changing video is impressive.

On recent VWs this requires several hours and costs a lot

Nowadays even the change of a headlight bulb can be embarrassing, no matter what make/model.
12/09/2009 @ 19:24:36: antp: Car videos worth watching :)
Yes, on the 206 it is already not easy (but I can do it myself  ) but on some other/newer models it is really a nightmare
13/09/2009 @ 00:55:23: taxiguy: Car videos worth watching :)
On the VW Beetle (1998+) you have to disassemble a ton of engine components simply to reach the headlght bulb, since space is so tight in there. That's the problem with many car designs today, they cut off corners for style, making a lot less space in the engine compartments than on older models.

The engine is down there somewhere (try changing the oil in one of these! You'll be crying before you finish)
