Overflow from a discussion on the X-Men 3, Mercedes-Benz GL450 page.

Now there is a GL550. It's somewhat ugly too... Has anyone seen it?

Yes, I don’t like the wheels on them. My, "Oh So Lovely Neighbor" just purchased a 2007 model GL450
(about two or three weeks ago). He thinks its the best thing on the planet. Oh and get this, He had
the nerve to go straight to my house just as soon as he got it home, just to brag about all the luxury
features it has. He let me take it for a spin around the neighborhood and as I pulled back into his driveway
he had the balls to say "Now isn’t this thing sweet!!! It’s a lot nicer than that cheap old Ford you have."
I wanted to punch the accelerator and run his GL450 through his garage door, but I kept my composure instead.
(Now you see what kind of neighbors I have to live around) :ohwell: Anyway my "Cheap Old Ford" still has more luxury
features than his Merc, and he knows that now. I made sure of that.

Yeah, he sounds like a right tosser.

He also has no taste, if I had enough money to buy a GL450, I would instead buy a high spec E-Class or maybe an SLK, not some god-awful SUV that I'm never even going to take offroad.

Sorry about your neighbors. 10 Years ago kids at school that had Bimmers, Mercedes' Lexus', and Infiniti's were always picking on me most because of how wealthy they were and how they think I was poor and all (I wasn't). Such jerks and then they ended up repeating another year of grade school! And what you said for the wheels I was talking about their front bumpers for the new GL550, not 450.

If you don’t mine me asking, what exactly is a "Tosser"?

Quote From: MBSL65fan

Wikipedia said that "TOSSER" is a british term in one who, well, it's nothing I need to say.

Yes I know... I just looked it up, and yes that is exactly what my neighbor is.

The American equivalent is probably "jerkoff".

My neighbor "The Tosser" was apparently born in a well-to-do family, which is most
likely why he acts like he does. His whole family acts like that, wife, children, the
whole-nine–yards.

I, on the other hand, was not born with a Silver spoon in my mouth. What I have now, I
have worked very hard to get. That is why we do not see eye to eye.

Do you mean he hasn't really had to work hard, even though he's got plenty of money? What does he do for a living? I can't believe he said "it's a lot nicer than cheap old ford you have." That's what I dislike about luxury SUVs like the Merc ML and the BMW X5, they are social climbers cars. I also think some of the BMW and Mercedes sedans (particularly BMWs I think) are bought by snobs and showoffs as well. I think the BMW 3-series is a car often bought by people who think they are too good for a Ford Mondeo. I don't think every single person who owns a BMW or a Merc is like that, but a lot of them are. I'll admit I'd love to own a Merc, but because I respect them as cars, not because I want to prove to everyone how much money I have. But I'd never drive an ML or an X5.

His does work for a real estate company and his wife works as a nurse at the local hospital. So
I’m sure he makes decent money. But I also think he inherited a lot of money when his father died,
as he was a God forsaken lawyer somewhere up north (I want to say Pennsylvania but I’m not sure)

And yes he did slur off on my Expedition, in a most arrogant way. He’s an Ass hole...

Not to be rude, but if we continue this conversation we should switch it to the forum, so as
not to clutter this page.

Also the talk of tossers etc. is something that is somewhat not approprate. And your neighbor may not be making a lot of money as he says he is since he's in real estatre and that the market is slow right now. Oh and make sure Neptune that he doesn't know your nickname and that you've insulted him like this on the site in case if he knows of it. :ohwell: I'm sure he just wants to brag about his money and stuff. I have known rich snobs before too.

Actually I've think I've already said everything I wanted to say about this, sorry! Unless there's anything you'd like to ask me?

So strange how I said that a GL550 is debuting and that it looks uglier that a GL450 and then We start talking about rude neighbors and so called tossers. But right now Neptune your neighbor may be struggling considering that the housing market is slow.

Actually no, as far as I’m concerned that discussion is over for now, I just plan on using this "Tossers & Real Estate" topic to redirect any conversations that go awry (that I’m involved in) :ddr555:

>> It is easy to get off topic.

>> Actually, real estate is not so slow for the Wilmington area, but I agree that he is probably not making as much money right now, as he says he is.

hahaha...real estate agent with a Benz, what a shocker!

my partner is just getting into real estate....he drives my 7 year old Passat wagon.

did he mean the comment about the Ford as a joke? i would have said the same thing  while i like some Fords, they just don't do much for me. Ever since I had my old BMW in collage I've been a big fan of German cars.....so I would have probably come home and made a comment like that.
27/07/2007 @ 22:13:51: MBSL65fan: Tossers & Real Estate
I'm not the biggest Ford fan myself, but I may get one for a car (rather I don't), but if I had a Mercedes and if my neighbor has a Ford I wouldn't go to their front door and say, "Isn't my Benz nicer than your cheap old Ford?" It wouldn't be my business on what my neighbor buys. Whatever makes them happy and satisfied.
28/07/2007 @ 00:33:08: Neptune: Tossers & Real Estate
The stupid part is my Ford cost about the same as his Mercedes, so it wasn’t cheap (At least Fifty Grand is not cheap to me, might be to others though) and I don’t think a 2006 model constitutes as being "Old" in my book. So what if his vehile is one year newer, big whoop! :kiki:

I’m done venting now...

I think the Range Rover and Hummer H2 are both great off-roaders. I do not like these kind of Off-Road tests as they prove nothing. All vehicles have their Pros and Cons, what one vehicle may lack, the other one will make up for.
05/08/2007 @ 19:37:05: antp: Tossers & Real Estate
All the tests about Range Rover usually put it as one of the best offroaders, with the Defender and some other ones. I do not remember ever having seen the H2 in these "top" lists (which does not mean that it is bad, it just means that it is not as good as the bests)

Sadly, the Escalade was ruined.
05/08/2007 @ 20:31:56: antp: Tossers & Real Estate
"Luckily" :grin:
05/08/2007 @ 20:37:46: G-MANN: Tossers & Real Estate
The Range Rover might be in fact just as good at offroading as the Defender (although I don't know for sure, I haven't read all the tests and stuff), it's probably got more technology in it, but the advantage of the Defender over the Range Rover is that it's the kind of car that could take a few dents, the Range Rover is more of a luxury car that you wouldn't want get to scratched not to mention all the complex gadgets and mechanisms that might end up getting damaged, unless you were so rich the cost of Range Rover meant little to you, so for that reason I think someone who need a real workhorse 4x4 would be better choosing the Defender, it's also about half the price of Range Rover. Although the downside of the Defender is that it's not very comfortable, it's very basic inside, it's been a long since I've ridden in a Defender, but it's probably one of the most uncomfortable cars I've ever been in. But then if I was a farmer or something I wouldn't care. If it's good enough for the British Army it's good enough for me.

I did not test it, but I went in a Lada Niva, which is a very good offroader too (and the cheapest one). I hope for the Defender that it is more comfortable than the Niva
