There still isn't a Plymouth Scamp GT on the site. I hope that happens someday.

Today I rode in my friend"s VW Beetle/ sedan, can anyone identify which year is it? or any details? ....he said it is 1972, but he is not very sure though.... Quite a nice car to ride in though =)

Hmm, early 70ies seems to be o.k., but the body is older: no banana vents. The engine lid is with four vents, so 1972/73 is correct for that, but the unoriginal colour and unoriginal interior irritates a lot.

The best way would be, to tell the VIN number. And really perfect would be the number on the little overpainted metallen badge besides the aluminium-plate and besides the VIN-number itself. With "translating" this overpainted badge (I can ask a friend for that, for myself I'm not really sure with that) you will know, when the body was placed on the production line.

Something from the early 70ies anyways.
Oh, is that an A/C underneath the dashboard? Interesting, never seen here.

If yur friend need help with spare parts, just let me know. I have good connections to dealers with NOS-parts for classic VW's

Today I've been at http://www.historicar.net/ a small spare parts market with a small classic car meeting on the parking ground. Nothing spectacular, just the local fans make one of the last short trips before the salty winter-weather will come.
I was there just for looking, for plates, parts and foto-motifs - and to hold annother IMCDb-user-meeting! I've met Animatronixx again! He was offline for a while for personal reasons, but he is still active in the Hearse-scene. He told me, that he will also come back to IMCDb again

Unfortunately there were too many very boooring classic cars there, masses of US-reimported Benzes, UK-Roadsters, Jag E-Types, US-Muscle Cars and so on. I only made pics of some outstanding cars, which are rare even on such events, as

This dsl-car is interesting insofar, as it may be one of the very few cars, sold originally in Germany. It is LHD, not US-spec and the badges in the trunk besides the plate are from a German classic car rallye in 1985.

That's at least the 3rd one I see in Brussels.
Others were 1/ white with black roof, and 2/ black with golden wheels. I previously saw a dark one which might be nr2 but I don't have a photo of it to be sure.

@ingo - nice alpine. The rear lights have that odd early 60s made-for-F reflector in the centre - not sure of dates when this was applied but it's there on early Minis for F (Austin 850), a couple of Alpines and a few other Brits from that period in F. sunbeam Lotus might have had interesting badging as LHD. Normally talbot in UK, but I think Chrysler-Simca was used in EU??

I'm with you, I'd rather look at the unusual cars on display, and not the standbys at every car show.

Now i'm nut sure, if the seller was a German or a Dutch company. There were no further informations about the car, on the sheet in the frontscreen was only the price remarked, 12.500 EUR.

Wiki says http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talbot_Sunbeam , it was sold here as Chrysler Sunbeam, after PSA took over the Eurpoean Chrysler-dealerships, as Talbot Sunbeam.

@ ingo.

I found this '68 Firebird in Seattle in 2009. It's one of the coolest vehicles I've ever seen. It's annoying when you say classic American muscle cars are boring. You are one of the most annoying people I've ever experienced on the internet.

I saw two Alfa Romeo 164 (the last Alfa sedan sold in the US, 1991-1995) in two days; a gray one in Dunn Loring on Friday and a white one in Rosslyn on Saturday.

It's nice to know that some 164 are still surviving in USA. (:

It's a pity that Fiat was/is so unwilling to invest and continue to sell cars in North America, especially Alfa Romeo, as in in my opinion probably some premium models could had success in North America. The Fiat 500 is an insufficient start.

Someone finally captured a confirmed 2015 Expedition prototype in Michigan a few days ago. This particular one being a long wheelbase variant, which should be the program name (U3542) or (U354-2).

http://thumbnails108.imagebam.com/28354/887d9d283536318.jpg

It’s the first good look at the 2015 Expedition (other spy photos have been of its sister SUV the Lincoln Navigator), and it shows some interesting changes.

http://thumbnails108.imagebam.com/28354/9f5831283536324.jpg

This prototype was spotted in Michigan traffic, en route to a restricted/guarded Ford Engineering and Powertrain test facility.

The reliable, but thirsty 5.4 Triton V-8 is gone (according to reports), and will be replaced by a group of engines; a 5.0 Coyote V-8, 3.7 Cyclone V-6, 3.5 EcoBoost V-6, and possibly a baby PowerStroke Diesel V-6 or V-8. The prototype could have any one of these under the hood.

http://thumbnails108.imagebam.com/28354/aa6388283536313.jpg http://thumbnails106.imagebam.com/28354/734d66283536306.jpg

It also may have the 10-speed "intelligent" SelectShift automatic gearbox that is being finalized for the Expedition and F-150.

http://thumbnails106.imagebam.com/28354/2203fe283536301.jpg

Supposedly it will use more aluminium than before, it already uses aluminium for the hood, liftgate and other body/chassis components. More use of boron steel is also rumored. The chassis/frame sports some strange modifications and additions underneath the SUV. Not sure what Ford is up to... :heink:

http://thumbnails106.imagebam.com/28354/9c66a1283536294.jpg

I see Ford is toying with the idea of putting oversized 22-inch alloy wheels on the big brute (which I think is silly). :kiki: Ford seems to be doing the "me too!" thing by adding them, since other manufacturers have added 22-inch wheels to their SUVs.

http://thumbnails108.imagebam.com/28354/d5be27283536330.jpg

The nose seems to have gotten bigger. Can’t tell if it will be curvy or aggressive. Some reports say it will favor the Ford Atlas Concept. Time will tell.

http://thumbnails103.imagebam.com/28354/8f91bd283536290.jpg

The prototype turns off the highway and up to the Ford Engineering and Powertrain facility.
