Sorry, that I put these links here, but I cannot find the thicker thread about this topic, forgotten and abandoned car-dealers.

Today in the newspapers. Passau is a Bavarian town in the farest Southeastern edge of Germany, directly at the border to Austria and close to the Czech Republic:

"The house of the good used cars since 1928" was closed by its owner in Summer 1975. He died in 1987 aged 82 years. His heirs haven't looked at the store -over 3 floors, because noone was interested. Now the last owner, an old lady aged 83 died and the interior of this dealership was transmitted to a 60-year old man, whose father had been an illegitimate child of the old dealer.

I'm back from a 20 days holiday in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote islands. This has been the best (and most expensive, too) holiday I've taken so far.

Besides the beautiful landscapes and beaches, those are the car-related stuff I want to share here:

We've rented this 2010 Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 LS in 'Flame Red' for the whole holiday, and covered 1.800 kilometres with it. This has been one of the worst car I've ever driven  Interior built quality, engine and the gearbox were simply terrible.

Not many interesting cars met in these roads actually, and only a very few Audis spotted too. This is the only worth mentioning one: a quite rare S2 Coupé for sale

With a rental car from a company named "PayLessCar" you can't expect much quality I guess
16/02/2015 @ 16:15:59: Lateef: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
It's even PayLessCar instead of Pay Less Car. In that case you should've pointed out that you shouldn't have to pay anything, as it's a payless (e.g. free) car

When you know it before, it's fine. So my fellow and me weren't upset on our New Zealand-tour in 1998, when the 12-year-old JDM Honda Civic Shuttle/Wagovan/Wagon collapsed (fortunately nearby our motel) - as we got it from "Rent-a-Wreck" in Auckland
The clerk told us before, that this may happen. The price was unbeatable, so it was o.k. for us.
16/02/2015 @ 22:39:59: walter.: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
:twixy: The same company had some better cars, too (Opel Corsa, Fiat 500,...), but unfortunately the Aveo was the only one available when we reached the airport. On the other hand, I saw in the Hertz parking that they had an Audi Q3 :ange: , but it would have been a bit too expensive for a 20 days-rental probably. Nevermind, the car has hardly ever held my attention during this holiday :zion:

First up, a local sighting:

Oldsmobile Achieva coupe. Achievas in general are dying out these days, and the coupe was never common (only 6 of 57 Achievas on the site are listed as coupes). Sadly, terrible nighttime picture is the best I can offer.

And now some from a recent weekend in San Jose, California:

Yeah, I know about the inferior plastic pieces in my car

Is the transmission sometimes clunky? After while with my car, it wasn't so clunky that I have gotten used to the engine torque to the gear changing

As in the main site:
1964-66 windshield. And with some "extra light", a V6 emblem is visible on the fender front end: it's a 1964-66 GMC Suburban "liftgate".

Seen last Thursday, in a small garage really not far from my home (maybe 5 to 6 km / 3 to 4 miles away):
• A 1949 Pontiac Streamliner Sedan Coupe Standard (with ugly wheel rims)
http://photos.elmer.re/_data/i/upload/2015/02/18/20150218023651-460dc6d6-2s.jpg http://photos.elmer.re/i.php?/upload/2015/02/18/20150218023620-76acf232-2s.jpg

(Some people apparently confuse the Streamliner with the Chieftain. See here and here. Can anyone confirm that if both cars had the same front face and overall length, the Chieftain has always had a "three-box design" trunk, as shown in the brochure?)

• A 1959-60 Chevrolet Corvette C1
http://photos.elmer.re/_data/i/upload/2015/02/14/20150214024953-0d2d01fd-2s.jpg

• A 1965-66 Volvo 1800S
http://photos.elmer.re/_data/i/upload/2015/02/17/20150217062359-1e091703-2s.jpg

• And a 1969-72 MB 250 CE
http://photos.elmer.re/_data/i/upload/2015/02/18/20150218023829-86b36538-2s.jpg

I first saw the Pontiac, as it was outside, and the mechanic proposed me to go into the garage to see the Corvette and the Volvo. And he talked then about the Mercedes, that was parked a bit further.
There was no problem for taking photos as long as I blur the plates. Not really a hard deal for me, as I already do it for some time

As it was completely unexpected, I'd say it was a nice meeting

Saw this today which is pretty uncommon around here. Condition is poor but at least it's intact.

I want to say Mitsubishi Mirage? 1989+

It could also be a Colt. There is a Dodge badge and a Mitsubishi logo.
20/02/2015 @ 12:20:07: antp: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
And here it was named Mitsubishi Colt

As the part with the Dodge badge does not have the right color, we can assume it is not originally from that car I guess?

Here's an SUV so rare IMCDB hasn't found one yet.

1995-1999 Acura SLX - A badged version of the Isuzu Trooper only sold in America...very slow seller and wasn't popular. I have found only one and my friends have recently spotted some.

No pic but I saw a BMW with a Ingo-town plate cutting the line/queue of cars that were waiting to take an exit of the tunnel, and due to that line cut the car blocked for a small time one of the two lanes going to the continuation of the tunnel.
I found that funny as Ingo is always criticizing how people drive here

Well, assholes are to find always and everywhere. Have you shown him the bad finger? I always do that (yes, in Germany this may cost some money, if you do that to a policeman, even a few thousands Euros, but I never bother about that).
