[...] I read about this building in National Geographic Kids - I knew it was in Poland, but had no idea it was Gdynia; I looked up, and was standing in front of it! They have great cocoa, and even the fence (out of the picture) is bent!
Ooch! How not to get a headache when viewing that building?
[...] My compatriots will surely laugh at this name
Can you share the joke?
[...] Looks like SOMEONE failed geography class

Wikipedia:
Kebab, (also kebap, kabob, kebob, or kabab) is a Middle Eastern, Eastern Mediterranean, and South Asian dish of pieces of meat, fish, or vegetables roasted or grilled on a skewer or spit originating either in the Eastern Mediterranean, where it is mentioned by Homer, or the Middle East, before spreading worldwide.
Unless I failed geography class, Jerusalem stands in a country of the Eastern Mediterranean coast
Furthermore, the shop could belong to a Palestinian claiming the town as Palestinian capital, an Israeli Arab
(1) who gave the shop the name of his/her former town / "mother city", or someone with a certain sense of humor (or provocation) leading to associate both the Jerusalem name and the Kebab word, knowing that most people would react the way you did? Or what about a Jewish Israeli promoting peace through meal?
So is there really a problem with this shop, or is it just you who failed the geography and history classes?

1: even being a Christian Israeli Arab (
catholic or
anglican) is possible. Don't confuse
Israeli with
Jewish, please.
