It has the same auto-dimming electrochromatic rear view mirror as the Ford Expedition

I'd still much rather have the Bentley :ddr555: How cheap of them to use the same mirror that's used on a Ford!
02/09/2008 @ 15:27:12: Neptune: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
Another immature hateful comment I see. (I’m sorry the car just so happens to have the same mirrors as Fords –) I thought I would post useful information about how the Bentleys mirrors worked – but no, someone has to be a smart butt. I’ve never seen someone who didn’t want to learn about a car ...

Anyway, there is nothing "cheap" about a Gentex mirror (Gentex is also accredited with making the first mirror that would dim to reduce glare)

Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar also use Gentex auto-dimming rear view mirrors, just FYI ...

I was only joking Neptune, calm down

But remember what Ray B said, he kind of had a point.
02/09/2008 @ 16:38:25: Neptune: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
That discussion was a misunderstanding (sixcyl had not done anything wrong on that page) I misinterpreted garcos comment.

But IMCDb has guidelines against posting nude pictures (some choose to disrespect the site and ignore them) I’m only trying to uphold those rules.

Furthermore there is nothing wrong with me posting information about any vehicle. (Even though I happen to know more about a certain SUV) Even if it bores you to death ...

Anyway, this topic is about interesting/funny/special cars sightings so this is my last comment concering you. We’re getting off topic.
02/09/2008 @ 16:42:50: G-MANN: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
Just take it easy, I was only pulling your leg. I just think it would be nice if you talked about other cars than the Expedition (no offence but you do seem pretty obsessed with it). I hope I haven't ruined your day.
03/09/2008 @ 06:23:36: 93_Montero: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
I don't mean to be harsh Neptune, but the Expedition is a huge hulking over sized SUV, I would never want one larger than mine. I even prefer the size of the first-generation Montero/Dodge Raider/Trooper more. This is coming from an SUV owner, I think the world would be a cleaner place if there was a serious removal of SUVs from the market.

I used to drive mine off-road frequently but now with school I have to be on the ball and not screwing around. Do you really need all that room the Expedition has? Do you use all it's capabilities instead of just taking it to the grocery store? Don't you hate being at a stoplight or parking lot next to four other gigantic SUVs? It's almost a relief to have a sedan in the vicinity, no joke. You have to see where G-Mann is coming from. As for the nudity, I don't see what the problem is with that, sixcyl takes a lot of time to post so many interesting pictures of everything else too.
03/09/2008 @ 11:02:10: G-MANN: interesting/funny/special cars sightings

I think you might have gotten the wrong end of the stick here  I'm not looking to have another SUV discussion so let's not get into one.

I think Neptune makes use of the Expedition's towing capacity, so I don't it's think like he's one of these people who own an SUV that has capabilities they never have any use for. Sure he probably doesn't use these capabilities in everyday driving, but I think his vehicle is useful to him other times (when you own a trailer you need a car that can pull it). And he does go offroad.

And (although I never meant to refer to this) sixcyl shouldn't really post thumbnails of nude women, but I suppose he's not breaking any laws.
03/09/2008 @ 11:19:46: antp: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
That nude debate is a completely other debate btw. The SUV debate is already off-topic enough for this thread :oh:
03/09/2008 @ 20:28:41: ingo: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
So then back to topic:

When came the facelifted Citroen C5 on the market? Today I saw one, it was a rental car.
03/09/2008 @ 22:10:01: antp: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
It is more than a facelift.
The 2001 model was facelifted in 2004, but the current one is completely new.
They started to sell it few months ago.
03/09/2008 @ 23:24:46: Neptune: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
The Honda FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell car …

I haven’t heard anything about it, so I was shocked to see that it can already be leased (only by southern Californians) but still – I think its neat *for a lack of better words*

Hmmm...G-Mann doesn't want to get into another debate about SUVs, I find that hard to believe. As for towing things, there are heavy duty pickup trucks that can do that the best AND they have back seats (for Neptune's family) AND can carry gigantic things like furniture easily. If someone really wanted a SUV for off-roading they would buy one with high ground clearance which is something the Expediton doesn't have. It's a suburban family vehicle plain and simple. I had to say these few things, I won't continue with this any further.

This is "your" opinion about the vehicle (which is fine) But don’t try to pass your opinions off as real facts. Do some research. The Expedition can tow more than some pickup trucks (including the 2007-2008 Dodge Ram 1500) And saying the Expy is no good off road is a slap in the face to the Ford F-150, which is no slouch off road (they share the same underpinnings. For a seating example: The Expedition seats 8 to 9 people – the F-150 seats only 5, maybe 6 if the SuperCrew can be optioned with a front bench seat.

Yes, believe it, its true. The SUV debate is old and tiresome. It’s endless and goes no where.
04/09/2008 @ 15:53:23: Neptune: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
Anyway,

Last month , I saw a new redesigned 2009 Ford F-150 (I knew the ’09 model are here, but I didn’t think Ford has released the F-150 just yet) So I thought it strange to see it.

I wanted to add this back when I saw it, but kept forgetting.

Ok, sorry to start up the SUV thing again but I just have to get this out...
What I don't underastand is why people who have an SUV (such as you Neptune) don't own another regular car for doing things from day to day (commute to work, grocery shopping, etc...) and just drive the SUV when they go on trips, go off-roading or need to carry more than 6 people? I suppose, in a way my family does this already. We have our Toyota Van, which is not exactly an SUV (though it does have 4WD!) but gets about the same gas mileage as an SUV (17/city 20/highway) and has about the same height and ground clearance as one (which are my main problems with such a vehicle), and we only drive that car when we go on trips. For around-the-town stuff and short trips we almost always use our regualar cars which get good mileage (20-25/city 25-30/highway)

Seems like a simple enough (and very economical) solution don't you think?
05/09/2008 @ 01:49:13: Neptune: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
For some (that does seem logical) I knew one person who actually did just that.

I may not have answered your question. Were you were wondering why I don’t have a smaller car?

Unlike some, I don’t have a set driving pattern. One week I may not drive hardly at all. I think the average American drives something like 45 miles per day. I may only do 20 miles a day, if that. It depends. I work from home (that’s why I’m able to pop in to IMCDb at all hours during the day ... ) so I don’t have to "commute" every morning like some. So most of the time the Expedition stays in the garage or the driveway.
05/09/2008 @ 02:15:17: Neptune: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
About that "how much a person drives a day" – I remember reading that figure somewhere, I can’t remember the source so I can’t verify it (You might want to take that statement with a grain of salt)
05/09/2008 @ 02:25:55: taxiguy: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
45 seems like a lot. Even my dad doesn't drive that much. His commute to work is about 5 miles both ways, and he usually doesn't go out anywhere else, and if he does, only about 10 or 20 miles at the most. How could someone possibly drive that much? Though, I guess I can beleive it, since my dad says some of his coworkers live over 60 miles from the office! To me that is simply wasteful, driving 120 miles every day, and more if they want to go anywhere else. Just stupid...
05/09/2008 @ 02:45:17: Neptune: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
It depends on where you live I guess. Some drive more than others (that figure was the supposed average taken) though, if I thought I was burning more time and gas getting to work than the pay compensated for, then (if possible) I would start looking for work closer to home (but that’s just me)
05/09/2008 @ 09:00:06: antp: interesting/funny/special cars sightings

So actually with your SUV you pollute quite less than many people having a small car and who use it everyday
