Could we please have all rear-engined (1977-1984) Leyland Titans updated to have [B15] as the chassis code? This would seperate them from the classic Titan models.

There seem to be only six, I did it manually
(maybe more amongst those who don't have the year specified)

Question whether the chassis codename is actually the generation codename for the Chevrolet Corvette:

It will be good to rename all the "Kamaz" trucks. They should rather be listed as "KamAZ". And why not make them automatically converted if a user writes "Kamaz".
http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/КамАЗ
Kam comes from Kama (river). AZ means Automobile Plant (Автомобильный Завод).
By the same logic are listed BelAZ and KrAZ.

done
edit: done too for Kegare's post which came when I was posting in reply to I-Denev.
At the same time I also applied that to Nash-Healey.

What about
Peugeot 504 Break (126 vehicles) vs
Peugeot 504 Estate (24 members)?
The second group has only right-hand drive 504s. Is this the reason why the "Breaks" stay "Estate"?

I suppose it is because its name was different in the UK market.

I don't think having Jensen-Healey as a separate make from Jensen is a good idea (even if strictly "correct"). It makes it more easily lost if not part of Jensen, and will create problems if and when we get any examples of the
Jensen GT which is very much the Healey's younger brother but never had a Healey name reference. So I think we should stick to Jensen as make and Healey as model - it's not "wrong" (the manufacturer was still Jensen Motors) and is much less confusing for actual usage.
I suspect Nash-Healey as make may cause similar usage problems, although not really knowledgeable enough to push that case either way.

Indeed
My question was more about why they had not been renamed:
- because IMCDb wants to underline this distinctive feature?
- or because nobody thought about this hiatus until now?
Maybe it would be better to have a common "Break/Estate"
(1) category, so that someone seeking after this kind of 504 in movies should see both right- and left-hand drive cars?
(1): or "Estate/Break".

But add in all the other national words for estates we recognise depending on country - Turnier, Combi, Kombi, Stationcar, Station Wagon, Wagon, Stasjonsvogn etc and it becomes a muddy swamp. One advantage of the present system is it does allow national listing for cars with different specs between countries, which is a surprisingly useful search attribute.
09/03/2014 @ 01:23:21: antp: Mass change model info thread
We name the car as they were actually named on their local market, so usually according to filming location except if there are other info allowing to identify it more precisely.
So many of the wagons see their name change, but it seems the easiest solution as there are many other name changes between countries (e.g. Japanese local cars vs export, EU vs US, etc.)
@Kegare > I'll see that tomorrow for the Corvette

Seems fair. But the Internet user has to know that the car he knows as a "Break" or as a "Kombi" can also be find as a "Stasjonsvogn", or he will miss a part of the website.
I wouldn't have search with this name, for example
Are this kind of analogies written somewhere? Will the IMCDb "next generation" have a special text field for that kind of siblings?
09/03/2014 @ 10:39:41: antp: Mass change model info thread
That's why there is the "made for" field, to indicate a local variant.
For the search and links between similar models, it will be improved in the future.
09/03/2014 @ 11:39:51: antp: Mass change model info thread
Done. There are some Corvette that didn't had a chassis field, it will be quick to manually add the mk info to these.

Here are codes for some cars:

Lancia: All first gen Delta are [831], all second gen Delta are [836], all third gen Delta are [844]; all 1984-1994 Thema are [834], all the Lybra SW listed as 1999 are actually 2000 model year.
18/03/2014 @ 17:19:15: antp: Mass change model info thread
Thanks, I updated the cars.
For the [116], as many GTV & Alfetta are already listed with special "sub-codes" I didn't change the others of these models.
18/03/2014 @ 22:52:17: Axl_Rose: Mass change model info thread
Ok
anyway 2006+ Spiders aren't [916], only 1995-2005, I wasn't precise xD also, the only GTV [916] without year is a 1998+.
