Speaking of Mks, I know I'm going to go off topic, but I was wondering why most Japanese models don't have Mks except for the Prius when most people commonly refer to the generations of each models.

Agree it's only a light restyle, but it's visually recognisable so useful for IDs. There's a fair few examples without Mark numbers to process, but the majority have been done. If a change benefits the database, let's do it, but I don't see how this one would.

It would create problems, because different markets around the world would mean different Mks.
Take the Toyota Supra. In North America, the current one is considered the Mk V, because their first one was the A40 Celica Supra, back in the late 1970s. In Europe, however, the current Supra would be the Mk IV, because their first one was the A60 Celica Supra in 1982.
What about Japan ? With the A40 and A60 sold locally as Celica XX, is the new Supra considered a Mk III there ?

As said above S1 & S2 is often used to refer these, maybe I could make the mk-number display as S+number then for these, instead of using the chassis code for the 106 S2 as currently?

For the 106, if "S1" and "S2" are not the official chassis-codes, they must be deleted, on the other hand, the Mk have all their interests here. For the Saxo, the problem is that there are "Series 1", "Series 1+" and "Series 2".

That does explain it well... Especially with the Supra example, Wikipedia factors the US models in counting generations but some sites don't, calling the JZA80 the 2nd gen

Not really chassis code, but I think that S2 was used at some places by Peugeot on documents for referencing the second series.

The NA pre face lift models were all built in Canada. I just check VINs for 1999-2001. 2002 were built in the Canada but 2003-2004 switched to US built.
So definitely 1999-2001 should have the built in Canada flag but 2002-2004 could be built in USA or CDN depending on the actual year.

Well it depends on the models... It seems that the name was used for two different models:

First we have to know who conceived/designed that North-America model: US, Canada or Japan?
The US/Canada model was sold in Japan under another name, so I guess that the Japanese Odyssey is a different one.
We only have two on the site:

They are listed as origin = Japan, if it is correct we could list all 1999-2004 Odyssey the same way, it would be easier than having to check them case by case to see which one of the two versions it is.

Completely normal. There are hatchback and notchback versions of the 2nd and 3rd gen Mustang, that's why.
