There's about three pages worth of 2000-07 Focus Wagon's with Wagon as part of the model name. Is this correct? Because their are a good amount of other ones that just have it as part of the trim info. The brochure's don't really help. 2000-04 use both the SE Wagon designation and the ZTW designation (2002-04 only). 2005-06 used strictly ZXW as it's official designation with the trim levels listed separately but 2007 did away with ZXW and just used the standard SE and SES wagon trim levels.

I believe wagon should be part of the model name but I need a second opinion.

Agree this should be resolved, but I don't know the US/CDN nuances (eg is ZTW significant enough interrupt a general policy??) to suggest which way apart from thinking we have enough of them to make it worth batching them all with Wagon in model name as tidier. Also needs consistent entries for where made (are there any before/after date thresholds?) and made for.

Might also be worth a good clean of Focus estates in Europe and elsewhere - we have lots of different local names in particular countries, but in some cases it does not look consistent for what and where.

So we need a Focus expert to make some wise decisions ...

I would support Wagon being part of the name, but I think that should be the case for all wagons, something that isn't always popular.

I've noticed that some cars have started getting their trim levels added to the name, and the body style is more significant than that.

I'm with Sandie. It would be easier to distinguish the models apart. The Taurus and Escort being other examples.

@dsl. It would be odd calling them the Ford Focus ZTW but that's how the brochures for the U.S. seem to classify them, at least from 2002-04. The same goes for 2005-06 with the ZXW and SE Wagon from 2000-04.

If there is anyone who can pinpoint the where it was made for and when it was made for like you suggested, it would help immensely,

ZTW is just a trim level that adds access to a bunch of luxury stuff in the option list ( moonroof, heated seats/mirrors fog lights and mags among others ) so it doesn't need enough attention to me ( if there was a SVT wagon it would have been different.. )

If we do it for the Focus, then Sable/Taurus will ask for same, soon followed by Escort/Tracer and their ancestors.. then other manufacturers...

i honestly don't mind if it is part of the name or extra info but we should keep it consistent to avoid split-ups


And how would we do that ? I mean, would a Golf Variant become a Golf Wagon Variant ? we would do it only for the nameless wagons ?

I would be up for naming them but I don't have admin privileges so the task would have to be placed on someone as willing to do it. I vote for Model Name but Europe would be special cases, Variant would stay Variant

This stems to adding coupe in the model name for the Accord

That's quite a project to take on if it's done.

In Europe the wagon versions often had that in their name, and it depends on the model.
For US cars we did not include it in the name directly because it seemed more a "descriptive name" than really part of the model name.
