Today I'd been on a local spare parts market. Due the rain-showers it was very empty. I had time to look for stuff, some IMCDBists have asked for, but unfortunately I haven't found anything except a wee brochure with a K 70 on the cover and two original and official Mercedes Benz-photos with interesting plates. At least I could made some pics for you.

As to be expected these two guys went to the market, too:

US-spec -as all of them- 912 E:

I don't see the red rear sidemarker along with the blinker

At first I thought, it was one of the 1978-1980 trials of GM to place US-cars on the West European market, but it's a later used import (taillights, dealer-badge)

Nice find, ingo

That is 1977 Chevrolet Caprice Classic, probably second-handed private import

I see, ingo

Missed the Perseids once again but instead of shooting stars, i got to see Galaxies..

1969

I see you found 1969 Ford XL SportsRoof here

At the same time ( and parking lot ) as the 1965 was a 1977-1979 Pontiac Parisienne too, on the front shot we actually see the Galaxie behind the Corolla

That looks like 1979 version to me, Baube.

A few impressions from a short trip to Luxemburg.

@rjluna2: a product from farest Northern Germany

http://www.nissen-online.de/en/index.html

in luxemburgish usage:

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/901/Oq0j9E.jpg

btw.: the traffic signs in Luxemburg are funny, a wild mixture of Belgian and German material - and also a wild mixture of the languages. Sometimes there are sign in German and French one the same pile.

Nice spotting, ingo

I have this posted at Temporary Traffic Signal Lights.

Red blinkers are illegal in Germany, so they are replaced by the orange lights. This is the first step, buyers of freshly imported US-cars are doing after they picked it up.

The same did my brother-in-law with his 912 E, he imported in December 2010.

This pic ist from Noon:

At sunset it already had orange indicators. I've changed them immediately after the arrival at home, when the Porsche was still on the trailer.

JDM-car. British plates with integrated dealer-ads are quite rare, I think.

Again I strongly recommend, to have always a camera with you! The following sights are all from this morning, when I just walked a few hundred meters through my village, to buy bread and my news magazine.

A few impressions from a very short trip to the Netherlands (just for some minutes checking the swap-meet of the Dutch license plate collector club plus a short walk with my wife through the town of Nijmegen.

I searched the translation for "dépôt", http://www.wordreference.com/fren/d%C3%A9p%C3%B4t didn't include "depot" but indeed it seems to work fine for this context: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depot
(cf "train depot")

Depot works fine in UK and US as place where trains/trams/buses/dustbin lorries etc park up when not in use - garage/workshop plus sometimes as public station.

Snapshot from this morning at our local gas-station, which belongs to an old-established Fiat/Alfa/Lancia-dealer (who owns also the Japan-re-imported Delta Integrale.

Isn't it incredible ugly, this US-spec version?

Ugly but extremely rare as named Scorpion. In Italy there's one too around Naples, spotted and posted on many sites/Facebook groups.
In the first picture I see also a Lancia Lybra sedan... Mustn't be so diffused in Germany, I guess

No, it's a rarity. But as I wrote, it's an old-established Fiat/Alfa/Lancia-dealer (I think since the 1960ies), so for that reason we have some unusual rarities in our village. But all from the last 15,20 years, nothing older.

Annother catch from today:
