No, the rear bumper should wrap around to the wheel arch. Also the sill does not rise towards the font wheel arch.

It comes closer to the Mercedes-Benz 220 Cabriolet A [W187] (1951-54), but I fail to see the front lights in the wings. It looks more like separate lights.

So we end with the smallest model, the Mercedes-Benz 170S Cabriolet A [W136IV] (1949-51), the forerunner of the 220 Cabriolet A.

Not a Hyundai. The design looks quite like the Mazda 929, but the front end is different. Perhaps a facelifted version? I can't find any pics on the net of the last Mazda 929s.

Well done, thanks. I had wondered for a while what type of car that was.

Since they drive on the left in Zambia and the cars are right hand drive, I would guess it's probably been imported used from Japan. I know Japan exports lots of used cars, although I thought it would be mainly to countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Pakistan etc. (where they drive on the left) as well as far east Russia and New Zealand.

@ecclefan: in Great Britain and in Ireland (there more than in GB) you can also see used imported Japanese cars.

The export to New Zealand is so extreme, that soem years ago the assembly-plants over there (from Nissan and Ford, if I remember correctly) were closed, because the lots of imported used cars have destroyed the prices.
Before the NZ-law for the car-import was changed, it was very restricted - a good reason, why you could see at that times a lot of very old cars, which were still in use.

In 1998 I've been there on vacations. One day I've passed the harbour of Auckland. The docks were empty. The following day they were full with hundreds of cars, all imports from Japan. Mainly Japanese car (from a Subaru Justy up to trucks and buses), but also German cars, Opel, BMW and Mercedes.

That's true. I've noticed a large amount of Toyota Lucidas, Mitsubishi Pajeros, Mazda Bongos/Ford Fredas appearing here in recent years.
