There seems to be a problem looking up my own comments on the site, and any other poster whose username is more than one word. Instead of the code for a space, it is using a dash.

Usually I can get most editing/validating in the early morning hours here, but right now, the site is at a complete standstill. Getting lots of spinning wheels, which is unusual for this time of day. Very little is opening. 5:09 EST-US.

It's the mid-afternoon slowdown. Site is crawling, can't approve things. 15:16 EST-US.

Site is crawling. Can’t update or access pages with 30 second delay. 6:11 EST.

Site almost at standstill. Long delays trying to upload entries or just getting pages to load. 18:05 UK time.

Edit: comes and goes - standstill for 10 minutes, then 20 minutes running OK (or maybe a bit slow), then stops again. Just like rush-hour on Glasgow motorway ...

The site was so slow that it was unreachable this morning.
I noticed in the logs an Indian IP address that was accessing a lot of heavy pages. So I blocked that address, it seems to work better right now, but it was most likely not the cause of all performance problems.
I see a lot of bots in the logs. It is incredible the number of bots for search engines that there are, though that everyone uses Google (or a little Bing). What a waste of resources
