Site/Ad Issues

For security reasons I never used the auto login feature on the site when I am on my computer.
I am always logged in on my mobile device.
Simple reason is other people may use the computer while no one is ever authorized to browse the web or even use my cell phone.

I switched my bookmark from non-S to S, so far haven't needed to login. There was a reason I didn't do this before, but I can't remember why?

I'm having this now and thinking it is something to do with clicking on the back to the site link on the forum?
Indeed, that link is the simple HTTP link, I'll change it.

I've put the fix for the cookie, you'll maybe have to log in again if you were using https only, but after that it should work as before.
Now if you log in via http, that cookie can be used for both http and https. If you log in via https, a different cookie will be used only for https.
One advantage of the change I did (and with this fix added to it) is that if you are on a public network and using https for that reason, you will not accidentally log in just by following a http link.

Has anyone else been getting pop-up ads that take up the bottom of the page or all the borders of a page? And you can't do anything until you refresh and it goes away? For some reason they have been occasionally appeared for me, breaking through my Ad Block Plus. It's super annoying.
And before I get asked which page, usually on the All comments page and sometimes on random vehicle pages.

Strange. When you get that, can you make a screenshot, and send that to me via email with the URL of the page, the exact time and your IP address? So I can report that to the ad company so they can investigate.

Just occurred again for me when I went to view the Yellowstone page at 3:12am EST-US:
The other related issue is when I visited the same page about an hour before on my secondary PC, the page would load, I was trying to change the view to "By Episode" and it wouldn't let me click to change. The drop-down menu would appear for half a second then close and it wouldn't let me click on it again. Even when I would refresh, it would keep doing the same thing. The only way out of the loop was to hit the change button, even though it was already showing "Make and Model", and once it reloaded the page was I able to change the view to "Episode" or any other choice.
This has also happened to me trying to type something into the search bar. Sometimes after the page loads, the cursor will disappear from the search bar, and it will not let me type anything on it until I refresh the page. This has happened on both computers, my laptop running Win11 and the PC running Win10 both on Chrome.

Thanks for the capture; can you also include the URL when reporting these? As they need the requesting page, as they need the exact address from where the ad is loaded, I think.
In this case I assume it was either https://www.imcdb.org/movie_4236770-Yellowstone.html or https://www.imcdb.org/movie.php?id=4236770
Do you remember if you were using the site with or without the www in the address? (i.e. https://imcdb.org or https://www.imcdb.org)

Sorry, I didn't mean to cut off the address line, here it is:

Thanks. I assume that you had these with the same connection as what you use to post on the forum? (i.e. same IP as the one the forum shows for you)

Yeah, this was from my laptop, which is what I mostly use. If you see another from an hour before to that page, that would be my upstairs PC.

They replied that they blocked that specific ad (but you may have to clean cache to be sure not see it again).

Same ad just popped up tonight on the La Zona page at 19:54 EST:

There have been other ads in the same place recently. i just keep forgetting to smip them. Tried to block the element with AdBlock+ and it can't seem to highlight that element.

Have you cleared the browser cache since then?

One thing to do also to be sure that the blocked ad does not come back: clear all cookies related to IMCDb (you'll then have to log in again, obviously).
In Firefox you can do it via F12 -> Storage, then you see all the cookies for the current domail, you can remove all
In Edge (so I assume Chrome too), via F12 -> Application
There is maybe another way to do so (via a more user-friendly screen)
